Salsa Verde

Salsa Verde

I’m not much of a salsa verde person.  And I can’t tell the difference between a good or bad salsa verde (I’m more of a tomato-base salsa kinda gal).  Since it’s made from scratch, I’m just going to assume it’s good.  The only reason I made it is for a stew dish (recipe to come soon) and for snacking while I was cooking.  Initially I thought the salsa was just OK.  But it tasted better as it ages.

Warm Jalapeno Crab Dip

Yesterday morning, I spotted a spider lurking around my dish rack.  I was so grossed out by it I had to hose it down with water then turned on the garbage disposal to make sure it’s dead.  One time, a waterbug crawled up my garbage disposal and it scared the bejesus out of me.  I had to make sure that didn’t happen again.  With that creepy crawler crawling through my clean dishes, I had to load everything in the dishwasher, dish rack included, to sanitize everything.  I detest spiders don’t you?

Weird to be sharing that on a food blog but enough about spiders and let’s talk about food (if you’re still with me)! I’ve got a good one today.  If you love crabs and if you love dips, this is a good one to make when company comes over.  And it takes no time to make –don’t you just love that? I love the jalapeno pepper in here.  It gives it heat but is not overpowering.  Have a great weekend everyone!

My first authentic Korean food experience was in 1997 when I first met M.  This was about the time when E started dating him.  Since then, I have been exposed to many wonderful Korean dishes.  Pajeon, kimchi jjigae, sundubu jjigae, to name a few (I’m a big soup/stew fan!).  Several years ago, I decided to make my at-home version of kimchi jjigae.  I think I have come up with a version I’m satisfied with.  A warning —this is pretty spicy.  I mean BTS (Burning Tonkomong Sensation) spicy. 😀
